CANNIBAL CORPSE Frontman Interviewed By METAL INJECTION
May 20, 2010Metal Injection guest correspondent Johnny Orlando, Jr. conducted an interview with vocalist George "Corpsegrinder" Fisher of Florida death metal veterans CANNIBAL CORPSE at the New England Metal and Hardcore Festival, which took place April 23-24 at the Palladium in Worcester, Massachusetts. George discussed his love of World of Warcraft and why he won't play any other MMOs (Massively Multiplayer Online); his views on censorship, refrigeration, his experiences recording voices for "Metalocalypse" and more. CANNIBAL CORPSE filmed two shows in early May for an upcoming DVD release. The concerts were shot and directed by Denise Korycki (Wild Wind Productions),who also helmed the band's "Centuries Of Torment - The First 20 Years" DVD.
"Centuries of Torment", which came out July 2008, was certified platinum in Canada last year just before the crushing release of the band's new album, "Evisceration Plague". The DVD sold 2,100 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 8 on the Top Music Videos chart.
CANNIBAL CORPSE recently took part in the band's first headline run since it appeared on the Hot Topic stage on 2009's Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival. Joining CANNIBAL CORPSE on "The Evisceration Plague Tour" were SKELETONWITCH, LECHEROUS NOCTURNE and 1349 on select dates.
"The Evisceration Plague Tour" kicked off on April 20 in Orlando, Florida and finished up in Tampa, Florida on May 15.
